Liliane (Lou) de Veth is a research assistant and field assistant in the Nexus1492 ERC-synergy project.

In 2007 she started her Bachelor in archaeology at the Faculty of Archaeology, Leiden University and graduated in 2010 with a specialty in Caribbean Archaeology and a minor in Osteoarchaeology. In 2010 she started her Research Master, her thesis topic was “Burying Beliefs. The archaeological and ethnographic study of mortuary practices of Ceramic Age groups in Colombia, Western-Venezuela, and the off-shore islands.” She graduated in 2013.

Since January 2014 she is part of the Nexus1492 ERC-synergy project. Her tasks include, among others, maintaining the Nexus1492 webiste, coordinating field-administration and student-guidance on excavation campaigns, and compiling reference lists for various publications.
