The Faculty of Archaeology is ten minutes walk from the Central Station in Leiden.
In 2012 Corinne Hofman has been awarded 15 million euro by the EU for her archaeological research on the colonisation of the Americas. Dr. David Fontijn and his researchgroup presented queen Beatrix with research on burial mounds at Het Loo. Prof. Willem Willems was awarded the 14th Archaeolgical Heritage Prize. In 2012 the Faculty's celebrated its 50th anniversary, marked by the launching of the Annual Alumni Lecture(s) Day.
